Silk is a delicate and luxurious fabric that requires special care to maintain its lustre and quality. When it comes to washing silk, it's essential to handle it with care to avoid damage or discoloration. Here are some tips on how to best care for silk fabric while washing:

1. Check our care label: Always check our care label on your silk garment for any specific instructions from us. Some of our silk products require dry cleaning only, while others may be machine washable.

2. Machine wash on delicate cycle: If the care label permits machine washing, use a gentle detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Place the silk item in a laundry bag to protect it from getting caught or tangled in the machine. Select a delicate cycle with cold water. All of our silk pillowcases and sleepwear producst are machine washable.

3. Silk Wash: We have developed a Silk Wash suitable for all your delicate fabrics, this natural laundry liquid can be used in the washing machine or when hand washing and maintains the elasticity and softness of fabrics. Made from organically grown, natural ingredients, it is delicately scented with organic lavender oil.

4. Handle with care: Avoid overloading the washing machine, and only include other lightweight garments with similar colours to prevent any potential damage to the silk.

5. Air-dry away from direct sunlight: After machine washing, remove the silk promptly and air-dry it on a padded hanger or a drying rack away from direct sunlight. You can tumble dry our machine washable silk.

6. Iron on low heat: Iron the silk fabric on a low heat setting.

7. Store carefully: When not in use, store silk items in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use padded hangers to prevent stretching and maintain the fabric's natural lustre.
